LIVING WITH AUTHORITY

1 Corinthians 15:20-28

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. 1 Cor. 15:20-28

  • If I want to live a complete and whole life, live it under God’s authority.

We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails. Prov. 19:21 (Mes)

1. TIME IS MOVING TOWARD AN END.

2. GOD COMPLETES.

3. EVERYTHING IS DESTINED TO BE SUBJECT TO GOD.

God created mankind in his own image, Gen 1:27

WHAT TO DO

1. Make time valuable.

Make the best use of your time, despite all the difficulties of these days. Don’t be vague but firmly grasp what you know to be the will of God. Eph. 5:16-17 (Ph)

2. Make God the source of my completeness.

Yet it is in him that God gives a full and complete expression of himself (within the physical limits that he set himself in Christ). Moreover, your own completeness is only realized in him, who is the authority over all authorities, and the supreme power over all powers. Col. 2:9-10 (Ph)

3. Make myself submissive to God.

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NLT)
