1 Corinthians 15:29-34

“No one can be loyal to two masters. He is bound to hate one and love the other, or support one and despise the other.” Matt. 6:24 (Ph)

Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away. 1 Cor. 7:31 (NLT)

Awake [from your drunken stupor and return] to sober sense and your right minds, and sin no more. 1 Cor. 15:34 (Amp)

You, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.1 Thess. 5:5-6

  • Keep the resurrection of Christ, which is behind me, in view, so that I can keep my resurrection, which is ahead of me, in view.

When I follow Christ with a view to my resurrection I will:

1. Search and rescue others for Christ.

Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? 1 Cor. 15:29

2. Suffer for the cause of Christ.

And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 1 Cor. 15:30-32
