1 Corinthians 15:35-41

“They are not of the world … I have sent them into the world.” John 17:16-18

  • The life God gives me is a life of contrast to my own way of living life.

What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 1 Cor. 15:36

“Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces a large crop. The one who loves his life will lose it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him”. John 12:24-26 (HCSB)

I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Phil. 3:8

If others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!  … I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel … I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. Phil. 3:4-5 (NLT)

1. Die before I live.

But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”  How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 1 Cor. 15:35-36

2. Identify the flesh.

When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 1 Cor. 15:37

3. Use the productivity God gives me for His Kingdom.

But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 1 Cor. 15:38

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 1 Cor. 12:4

4. Greater faith brings greater rewards.

Similarly there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.  There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies. The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory. 1 Cor. 15:39-41 (NLT)

“To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance.  But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matt. 25:29 (NLT)

I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.  Rom. 12:1 (NLT)
