OBSERVATIONS ABOUT FAITH AND DOUBT

Observation #1: Doubt is inescapable.

Jude 1:22 (NIV) Be merciful to those who doubt;

Observation #2: Every human being lives by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) Without faith it is impossible to please God,

1 Corinthians 13:12 (NIV) Now we see (that's a "knowledge" word) but a poor reflection as in a mirror (and now we have confusion, misunderstanding, doubts and questions): then we shall see face to face (we don't see face to face yet). Now I know in part; (with questions and doubts) then, I shall know fully even as I am full known.

Observation # 3: Doubt can lead to stronger faith.

John 8:32 (NIV) "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

John 14:16 (NIV) Jesus asnswered, "I am the way and the truth and the life."

John 16:13 (NIV) "When He, the Spirit of trhuth, comes, He will guide you into all truth."

Observation # 4: When certainty is impossible, faithfulness still on the table

Matthew 8:16-17 (NIV) Then the eleven went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted.
