Mark 9:17-18, 20 "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid." ... When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around foaming at the mouth.

3 REALITIES:

1.     Misreading the Bible causes conflict between faith and science.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,

Matthew 22:37 "Love the Lord your God with all your ... mind."

2.    Science taps into something beyond science itself.

Psalms 19:1-2 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.

3.     The deepest questions of life cannot be answered by science.

If you want to know, "What does life mean?" then you have to step back and look at the larger context of that life and at this world in which we find ourselves.

You can't live a meaningful life in a meaningless universe.

Colossians 1:16 (Mes) For everything, absolutely everything above and below, visible and invisible, ... everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.

Ephesians 1:11 (Mes) It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ ...He has His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.
