FAITH AND DOUBT

WHAT DO WE REALLY BELIEVE?

Isaiah 29:13

July 3, 2016

Colossians 1:18 (TLB) He (Christ) is the Head of the body made up of His people - That is, His Church - which He began;

3 KINDS OF CONVICTIONS

1. PUBLIC CONVICTIONS: What I SAY I believe.

Matthew 2:8 "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him."

 2. PRIVATE CONVICTIONS: What I THINK I believe.

Mark 14:29, 31 "Even if all fall away, I will not." ... "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you."

3. CORE CONVICTIONS: What I SHOW that I really believe.

Romans 1:21, 28 ...their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. ... God, gave them over to a depraved mind,

You cannot live in a way that Jesus would live if you do not share His convictions at the core level.

Philippians 2:5 (NCV) In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.

3 MOVES IN THE MATURITY OF FAITH

1. LET GO.

Luke 23:46 "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

2. WAIT.

Genesis 17:17 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old?"

Genesis 18:12-14 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master old, will I now have this pleasure?" Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?' Is anything too hard for the LORD?

3. YOU'RE CAUGHT.

Genesis 21:6 "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me."
